Box is an evergreen shrub and perfect for making shapes of all kinds from simple balls and cubes to peacocks, swans, etc.and more intricate items.
Box likes to be kept on the dry side, so is good as border edging planted in the ground, or also good in terracotta pots in the courtyard. Topiary does need clipping at least twice a year to keep its shape, but is well worthwhile in a formal garden.
