Carex buchanii

from New Zealand  Ht 12-15" (30-40cm)  Planting distance 15-18" (40-45cms).  Densely clump-forming, this species has stiffly erect leaves which are reddish-green underneath and paler above.  Most carex are evergreen perennials.  Tiny greenish-brown flowers are carried in catkin-like spikes.
