Red stems are the forte of this herbaceous perennial and these last through every stage of growth right up to the frosts. Height 2-2.5ft (60-75cms) when in flower. Flowers are actually bracts, and this plant produces flame-coloured bracts, borne in round inflorescences 2-4" across (50-100mm), fading to flame-orange. Flowering period May-June.
