Viola labradorica 'Purpurea' 9cm


Very useful viola for groundcover and underplanting under silver-foliaged plants, Japanese acers, or roses.  V.labradorica has purple foliage, and is very floriflorous with purple-blue flowers, mostly in April/May, but can continue throughout the summer months if in good soil.   Foliage will turn green if in deep shade.  Good evergreen spreading alpine plant.  Ht 15cms (6") when in flower.  Planting distance 12-15" (30-40cms).  Originating from Greenland and N.America.
