Lovely finely dissected foliage which, if grown in full sunlight or dappled shade remains that colour all year round until winter sets in. Hardy enough to be grown in the open if sheltered from the north and east winds. If situated in a breezy condition, make sure that this acer is given enough moisture throughout the dry summer months to maintain its foliage in its best condition. If this variety is grown in deep shade, the foliage will be greener than intended. Acers are not as fussy as people may think; they will tolerate any soil which is moist but well drained and will also thrive in a large terracotta pot in a prime position, but please remember to water regularly, even if has rained (summer). No need to water in winter.
