Acer palmatum 'Tamukeyama' is one of the best reds, keeping its colour for longer than other reds varieties. It has a naturally pendulous, mushroom or mounding shape and will grow to 3-4m in 10years.  The cascading branches bear new growth of deep crimson finely dissected foliage, turning to vibrant purple-red.
