ALPINES
The plants under this category will withstand hot dry situations and will, once established, go for long periods without water. Most alpines are very short (up to 12" (30cms), so they are good for rock gardens, and border edgings. Some alpines are tender (all these are hardy) and some are so ground-hugging that they grow best in scree gardens or troughs and these need gritty soil and good drainage. |
