Hardy herbaceous perennial which is suitable for mixed borders or informal planting in full sun or part shade.  Good cut flower, as stems are roughly  6-8" long as this is a medium sized astrantia with dark pink-red flowers and bracts during June and July.  Reasonably moist soil is needed for these plants to thrive.  Cut down stems in late summer.  Planting distance 12-15" (30-40cms)  Ht approx 24" (60cms)  Generally easy and trouble free.
