A Raymond Evison patio variety with large magenta star-shaped flowers and with pale yellow stamens in the centre.
Flowering from top to bottom of the plant is the major feature of patio clematis. They are hungry feeders, so any added nutrients are a bonus; feed with a weak liquid feed every two to four weeks to encourage continuous flowering between May and September. Dead heading is also necessary to encourage repeat flowering through the summer. Perfect for patio tubs on the terrace or near the front of a mixed border (with support).
Prune hard in March as this plant flowers on new growth.
Root runs need to be kept cool and shaded either with other plants surrounding the rootzone, or with stones, slates, etc. and a neutral pH mulch where possible. Hardy to -20deg.
