Deciduous clematis with maroon flowers in late summer which have light purple centres from May to September These are young plants which can be planted if care and attention is given to watering and shading. Clematis need a cool root run which can be improved with a neutral pH mulch, and shading with surrounding plants, or with stones/slates. Clematis do not like to dry out completely and a weak liquid feed will be beneficial to encourage new growth.
