Delivery & Despatch

We aim to despatch stock items within 7–16 working days, allowing us time to prepare plants carefully and ensure they leave the nursery in the best possible condition. Specially sourced items may take longer, occasionally up to 28 days. We will keep you informed if further delays are expected. If you need your plants in a hurry or by a certain date, next-day or timed delivery, please contact us before ordering and we will do our best to help.

To protect plant health in transit, we usually pack orders on Mondays and Tuesdays, ready for despatch on Tuesday or Wednesday, using a 1–3 day delivery service. We generally avoid sending plants later in the week. This helps prevent plants being held in courier depots over the weekend, where lack of light, air and water may affect their condition. Our aim is always for your plants to arrive promptly and in good health.

Deliveries are sent using trusted couriers and typically arrive between 6am and 6pm within three days of despatch (not from day of order placed). A signature may be required on receipt, so be sure to track your parcel/s to ensure someone will be home. We recommend providing delivery instructions where possible to avoid loss of parcel/s. Please leave a telephone number when ordering for tracking purposes and so the courier can contact you if they struggle finding the address.

Preparing Plants for Transit

As part of normal nursery practice, some plants may be lightly trimmed or cut back prior to despatch, particularly after flowering or during periods of vigorous growth. This helps plants travel safely, allows more efficient packing, and helps us keep delivery charges as fair and affordable as possible, while also encouraging healthy regrowth after planting.

Preparing Plants For Transit

Packaging Materials

To reduce waste and keep costs down, we may use recycled packaging where appropriate. This does not affect the care taken in packing your plants. We do cover wet pots with plastic (reused where possible) to prevent soggy boxes and potential damage to plants.

We hope to offer more eco friendly packaging options in time. However, eco packaging is considerably more expensive and it will affect our pricing. We are currently exploring the most cost effective solutions for our customers.

Receipt of Order

After placing an order, please ensure someone is available to receive your delivery. We are unable to leave plants in a safe place. Parcels may be tracked providing a telephone number has been given at point of order.

On arrival, please unpack plants as soon as possible and water the compost, roots rather than foliage, if required and position in the shade while they get used to their new environment.

Delivery Charges

We charge delivery at cost price only based on the size, weight and service required. We also absorb many packaging elements, keeping home delivery affordable. We do not add handling fees or profit from delivery charges, which helps us keep plants prices as low as possible.

Damage in Transit

If plants are damaged in transit, complaints must be made to the nursery within 24 hours of receipt.

If the box is damaged, please indicate on the delivery note which you sign saying ‘contents unchecked within damaged box’, and also email us to let us know the extent of any damage. Please take photographs of damaged packaging/plants on arrival if possible as this will be our only proof to the courier that the box/contents have been damaged in transit.

Our guarantee is limited to the replacement of any damaged plant/s with a plant/s of the same variety ordered.
