Male Fern. Basket Fern.  Shield Fern.                                                                                                          A tough, deciduous fern forming a shuttle-like tuft.  Ht approx 1.2m (4ft).  It has bipinnate fronds with blunt lobes and is used in medicine and for ornamental purposes.  It has orange-brown scales.  It will tolerate drier conditions and sun better than other ferns.  The foliage turns coppery in autumn.   Hardy & easy.
