Pretty white cup-shaped flowers during autumn, which makes it a very useful late-flowering shrub. Will grow in neutral to acid soil, but dislikes too alkaline a soil. This one will grow in calcarous soil, but needs a little help to thrive. Give it a sheltered position and a dressing of peaty soil, and it should be fine. If it needs it, ericaceous feed will help to keep the leaves a nice dark green. Slow growing up to 3m. Very pretty and gardenworthy. Hardy in well-drained soil, and in part shade.
We have three semi-mature trees with partly clear stem and growing into trees with slender heads so far.
