Product Description

This variety will have blue mophead flowers if grown in acid soil.  If you have neutral soil, then add aluminium sulphate and keep this topped up by adding a little around the rootzone of the plant every spring.  You can use lemon juice, coffee grounds, vinegar to help keep the soil acid, but it is pot luck as to what will work.  It is best to test your soil before planting to see how much of anything you will need to add - best to start with an ericaceous potting compost in the planting hole and surrounding areas, and use rainwater (which is acid)  - tapwater is alkaline and so not suitable if you want to keep your hydrangeas blue.
