The ever popular dark blue flowered lavender.  Trim back after first flowering to encourage fresh foliage and new flower heads.  A foolproof way of preventing lavenders getting leggy and woody is to trim them back on the 8th of August (8th month) to 8"; the plants then have time to put out new foliage and a second flowering.

Lavenders require good drainage and preferably full sun.
