| AA Conifers & Heathers

Wonderful plantings of Conifers and Heathers can be achieved with reasonable ease.
Conifers can be of various hues of green if the heathers are to take the lead with their chosen colour from white, pink, red and purplish pink.
If the conifers are the more prominent and desirable item in your planting area, there are so many shapes, sizes and colours to choose from - tall dark green or glaucous, medium height broader shapes of gold, green or blue shades to give a huge variety of hues and a very interesting planting with heathers or other groundcover taking the backseat.
There are numerous prostrate conifers for a low mounded effect.
If you are stuck for ideas, then look up Adrian Bloom's plantings; they will give you enough inspiration to go ahead and make your choices. Heathers and Conifers are perfect partners as they don't fight with each other and create relaxed plantings to enjoy.

The plants listed here are all suitable for a hot dry border. All plants would need to be 'settled in' in their first year, but once established would tolerate a bit of neglect and short periods of drought, and suitable for a Mediterranean garden. List being added to ongoing. |
