Californian Poppy. Genus of summer-flowering, woody-based perennials and deciduous sib-shrubs. Frost hardy. This plant is grown for its large, fragrant, white flowers that have prominent centres of golden stamens which appear in late summer and go on until the frosts. It has deeply divided grey-green leaves. Requires a warm sunny position and deep, well-drained soil. In very cold areas, this plant may need some protection in winter. Ht & Spread 2m (6ft)
