Straggling perennial with lupin-like pea flowers which are yellow. Ht in flower 90cms (3ft). Fully hardy, this plant prefers sun and light, rich soil. Spread 60cms.(2ft) Glaucous leaves are divided into three oval leaflets. Flowering period May & June. If faded stems are cut down to a few inches above the ground, then a second flowering is possible in early autumn.
Thermopsis dislike root disturbance, so that it will take several years to re-establish itself after division. Division should take place in March/April.
